Kano grants amnesty to 39 cattle rustlers

Kano State government has granted amnesty to 39 cattle rustlers.
Those pardoned were allegedly involved in cattle rustling operation, kidnapping and other crimes at Falgore forest about 30 kilometers from Kano city.
Ganduje told them at a ceremony at Gomo, Sumaila local council that government is granting the amnesty for sincere repentance.
According to the governor, activities of the rustlers such as rape, killings, abduction and banditry have paralyzed economic activities in communities in Sumaila and Doguwa local councils.
The governor stated that his administration, “is working out modalities to train and empower the repentant criminals so that they would become productive citizens and re-integrate fully into the society.”
