OGUN LG POLLS: APC SAGAMU LG: AFO Storms Ijagba, Latawa, Itunsokun Amidst Fanfare

In what can best be described as street credibility at its peak, the campaign train of the Chairmanship candidate of our great party, APC in the July 24th local government election, Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate - AFO, as led by the DG, Hon. Gbenga Banjo Baruwa, was wholeheartedly received by residents and party members at ward 6, ward 7 and ward 8.

In line with the directives from the Campaign Committee, the movement started from the local government secretariat of the party with sweet renditions from AFO babes to entertain members while waiting for the arrival of Ogbeni Odulate.

The movement of the campaign train down to ward 7, was a testimony to the wide popularity and acceptance of Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate among the electorates. The S.A to the Governor on Education, Mrs Ronke Soyombo who lights up the campaign with enthusiasm while reeling out the giant strides of Gov Dapo Abiodun led Ogun State Government in Education, Housing, Agriculture, Infrasyructural developments among others.

The campaign started proper at ward - 7(Ijagba), with hospitable atmosphere and cultural entertainment by the Agemo dancers at the community square. The hyperactive DG, Hon Ademola Adeniran(Sapele) and other dignitaries were well received by the ward leaders. Hon Rafiu Opaleye, the APC Caretaker Chairman introduced Ogbeni Odulate and his Vice, Comrade Isiaka Salami while the party's flag was handed over to Hon Idris Awoderu Oluwaseun as the ward 7 Councillorship candidate. It is important to acknowledge the presence of the Desalu family, who trooped out enmass to receive their son, Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate - AFO.

Ward-8, was another superb outing for our campaign train as the party members and admirers of Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate were more than anxious to receive us. Our host, as witnessed in ward 7 also entertained us with a brilliant performance by the egungun entertainers while the grassroots presence of our Councillorship Candidate, Hon Kamoru Adenusi was heavily felt when presented with the party flag.

Going to ward 6(Itunsokun) from Latawa, Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate's family lineage to Itun-gbogbo was confirmed by Alhaji Nurudeen Kazeem(Eleshin) when the Islamic Scholar was paid a courtesy call. Ward 6 was extraordinarily exceptional in their plan, being the ward of the Campaign DG, Hon Gbenga Banjo Baruwa, Alhaji Tolu Daodu and the Vice Chairmanship Candidate, Comrade Isiaka Salami. And the collective impacts of these leaders was well pronounced in their grassroots. One would have thought the three wards had a joint meeting, as our host in ward 6 also entertained us with another wonderful display from the egungun entertainers.

The DG, Hon Baruwa charged the gathering to be prepared as the Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun will be visiting Sagamu on Saturday to commission some projects, among which is the Oba Erinwole Road while he assured the party admirers that Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate will continue from where he stops, if elected.

He therefore charged the party members to continue with their party evangelism.
