Some business owners in the Makun, directly opposite Sagamu Town Hall area of Sagamu local government in Ogun State have bemoaned the fire which burnt their shops and destroyed goods said to worth millions of naira.
The Commissioner for special duties, Barr. Femi Ogunbanwo, Constituency II, Makun House of Assembly Member, Hon. Ademola Adeyinka Adeniran Sapele, SA to the Governor, Hon. Aka Adewale, Ward 12 Councillor (Chief Whip) Hon. Rasheed Olokun amongst others today visited the scene where the fire outbreak occurred.
Save Our Nation (SON) had earlier reported that the fire, which gutted four shops, started around 1:30am on Wednesday.
The fire was allegedly caused by an electrical spark inside one of the shops opposite Sagamu Town Hall, Isote precisely.
All the owners of the burnt shops, were met, Mrs Rukayat, who was more affected explained to the team and counted her losses.
In the earlier report, SON noted that the same shops were said to have burnt about seven years ago, plumbing materials, Water Pumps, Building Materials,Water Closets, Foodstuffs, Plumbing Pipes, Freezers, Soft Drinks etc were destroyed by the fire.
Barr. Femi who led the team down to the scene sympathized with them, he said he was happy that no life was lost and equally assured the shops owner of compensation by the government.
Mrs Rukayat expressed gratitude on behalf of other shop owners and appreciated Hon. Sapele for his promptness whenever there is any issue within his constituecy.
"We are all delighted to see the government team led by Barr. Femi Ogunbanwo, it shows that Governor Dapo Abiodun shared part of our pains to have sent this team down here, we send out special appreciation to the Governor and we pray that God will continue to reign with him" Mrs Rukayat stated.
