The Land Grabbing issue is been on for years and the good people of Makun Kingdom have been pushed to the extreme and ready for reprisal attack.
During the press conference today at Ewusi Palace, Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya (JP) (Ewusi of Makun-Kingdom Orungba II) stated his plight, and corroborated his ascertion by noting that he's ready to lead the peaceful protest if the Ogun State government under the leadership of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun fails to act accordingly and appropriately.
"Incessant attacks on Makun Communities through the Land Grabbing and criminal activities sponsored against us by Oba Adewale Adeniji, Oniraniken of Iraniken, Sagamu, Ogun State.
"We are seizing this opportunity to call for the intervention of the Stats Governor and all stakeholders on the incessant attacks on our people at Okerala, Oko-Iwaju, Kanuyi, Ipa Village amongst others by land grabbers sponsored by a Traditional Ruler, Oba Adewale Adeniji, Oniraniken of Iraniken.
"It would be recalled that we had in the recent time past reported the matter on several occasion to the Akarigbo/Paramount Ruler of Remo-Kingdom, HRM Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, did a petition to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who directed the bureau of lands to intervene and had also being invited alongside Oba Oniraniken but Ogun State House of Assembly (Committee on Land Matters) for facts finding, surprisingly, we are yet to get any signal of positive intervention on the matter despite our peaceful approach.
"Annoyingly, we were informed that the unlawful act repeated itself when hundred of hoodlums again stormed our Community at Simawa recently leaving several injured, to this end, we are set to help ourselves if the Government of the day would not rescue our people from being terrorized, dehumanized and maimed by those set of Criminals who are acting as if they are agent of the Government.
"Kabiyesi (Ewusi) pledged to lead the protest if the Govt would not act before the 7 days ultimatum as all the peaceful approaches tend to prove abortive.
"Conclusively, we are all gathered here today to announce to the Ogun State Government that if nothing is being done to rescue Makun Community of Sagamu from this unacceptable and criminal acts, we shall be staging a peaceful protest that shall lock down Sagamu township in the next seven days if our government would not act accordingly to forestall likely reprisal from our community.
"In the same vein, we urge the inspector general of the Nigerian Police Force to do all that is in is capacity to ensure that a looming communal clash that may further threaten our peaceful co-existence is being abated". Oba Ewusi stated
