BREAKING: OGUN: COMMUNAL CRISIS: TASUED Management Reopens Campus June 15, 2023

The management of Tai Solarin University of education situated at Ijagun, Ijebu Ode part of Ogun State has announced the resumption date for the students of the institution.

This information on that reopening of the campus was contained in a press statement signed by the institution Registrar, Dapo Oke, FCIA, MANUPA, who is also the Secretary to Council and Senate.

Recall that the closure of the campus became necessary when there was a communal clash between the Students and Imaweje Indigenes.

"The University Senate at its emergency meeting held on Tuesday, 13th June, 2023, considered the interim report of the Special Committee set up to investigate the Imaweje/Students Fracas and approved the reopening of the University effective Thursday, 15th June, 2023.

"It also reviewed the University calendar and approved the extension of Teaching Practice for 400 level Students by one month. Matriculation Ceremony for newly admitted students would take place on

"Wednesday, 21 June, 2023 while first semester examinations for 100-300 level students would commence 1 week of July, 2023. Meanwhile, E-test continues on Monday, 19th June, 2023.

"While welcoming students back to Campus, the University wishes to state emphatically that its zero tolerance for cultism is still fully operational. Students are hereby warned to steer clear of all forms of violence as any student found contravening any University rules and regulations would be summarily dealt with. They are enjoined to maintain cordial relationship with their Host Communities."
