The rainstorms that wreaked havoc at Emuren community in Ward 9, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State was enormous and had rendered people of the community homeless.

Over 150 buildings, road networks, schools were devasted by the storm during the heavy downpour, paralyzing the economic and social activities in the area.

Oba Adesegun Bolaji Alowonle, Elemuren of Emuren Kingdom has urged the good people of the community to remain calm, promised them that the local and state governments would intervene to ameliorate the current situation.

"It is with great sadness that I received the shocking news on April 21, 2024 over the rainstorms that wreaked havoc in my community.

"I Oba Adesegun Bolaji Alowonle, Elemuren of Emuren sympathize with my people at Emuren over their losses where about 178 house, the only Secondary School, Olomimeji Community High School, Govt. Primary School, St Paul's Anglican Pry School, the African Church, CCC1, C.A.C, Church of the Lord etc were all affected by the rainstorms.

While sympathising with the affected victims and the entire community, Elemuren urged them to be grateful to God, the Maker of both heaven and earth as no life was lost.

"My people at Emuren should remain calm during this trying time, we are in it together and we shall triumph, I have started contacting the appropriate quarters and I'm optimistic that indubitably, the Ogun State performing Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR who's is a listening Governor and lover of all would intervene and bring succor to the community.

"I can also assure you all that our Commissioners, Hon Comm. Funmi Efuwape, Comm. Ola Oresanya, Local Government Chairman, Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate, House of Assembly Honourable, Omooba Damilare Bello, House of Representative Lawmaker, Hon Dewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel won't abandon us during this hard time, they are all going to come to our rescue in Emuren and we shall be grateful to God and them all.

"Above all, our revered royal father here in Remo, his royal majesty, Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland also sympathized with us and assured us of his intervention so that life can become easier and better for the victims.

Some of the Victims are as follow; Chief Joshua Efewape, Mr Babatunde Makewu, Chief Adetayo Samuel, Prince Adejuwon Adebanjo, Mr Rasaki Oroku etc

Only God Almighty can console the victims and I pray that God will bless them all bountifully and make them regain their losses". Elemuren stated.
