Sonyindo Community High School, Sagamu, witnessed a moment of pride and inspiration on Friday 26th of September 2025 as one of its illustrious alma mater, Comrade Olugbenga Isiaka Lawal, popularly known as Ambassador Easy, awarded scholarships to deserving students while officially unveiling the Ambassador Easy Foundation Scheme.

The event, which drew staff, students, community leaders, and well-wishers, was marked by cheers of excitement and heartfelt gratitude. Lawal, who once served as the Head Boy during his time at Sonyindo, said his decision to give back was driven by a deep sense of appreciation to the institution that laid the foundation for his personal and leadership journey.

Eight students emerged as the first beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme:

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Adebayo Oluyemisi Olorunwa, commended Ambassador Easy’s gesture, describing it as a life-changing intervention for the students and their families. “Thank you so much for today. Sonyindo Community High School sincerely appreciates your efforts. God bless you,” she said, noting that the initiative has further strengthened the bond between the school and its alumni.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Easy emphasized that his mission was to inspire hope and motivate students to pursue excellence regardless of their background.

“This scholarship award is not just about supporting students financially but about inspiring them to believe in themselves. I am a product of this school, and it was here I learned discipline, leadership, and resilience. Giving back today is my way of honoring Sonyindo High School for the values it instilled in me,” he stated.

He went further to highlight the broader vision of his newly launched foundation:

“The launch of the Ambassador Easy Foundation Scheme marks the beginning of a journey to continuously support education, youth empowerment, and community development. It is my prayer that this initiative will not only ease the burden of parents but also encourage these young ones to aim higher and become shining lights in society. This foundation will create a platform where students and young people can access opportunities that will change their lives for the better.”

The unveiling of the foundation, alongside the scholarship awards, was celebrated as a landmark moment in the history of Sonyindo High School.
