July 20, 2021
The Chairmanship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Sagamu local government in the forthcoming election, Omooba Damilare Mohammed Bello has congratulated Muslims as they commence on Tuesday, celebration of the 2021 Eid-el-Kabir Sallah festival, enjoining them to ensure that peace, order and love for one another remain their watchwords during the season and thereafter.
He urged Nigerians, most especially the Muslims to imbibe the lessons of the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim and work for unity. According to him, the sacrifice is not only for spiritual fulfillment but also for the progress of mankind and development of the society, praying "Allah to grant us His grace to celebrate many of it in good health and wealth".
Part of the message reads, "I join the Muslim faithful in Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria and the world at large to share in the felicity of this Ileya Festival. Eid-el-Kabir comes with significant lessons for mankind. It is a festival to remind the adherents of Islamic faith that there will always be great rewards when we have long-lasting faith and perseverance in times of despair; diligence in prayers and tenacity in our belief".
Omooba Damilare Bello further called on the good people of Sagamu to be prepared towards changing the status quo as they head to the polls on Saturday to elect a new council chairman. He urged them to vote all PDP candidates in the election and also be willing to protect their votes without fear or intimidation, noting that Sagamu is for all.
"I wish to use this opportunity to remind our people of the July 24 local government election. Let's troop out in large numbers and vote PDP. It is the only party with the brochure of quality grassroots governance as experienced between 2003 - 2011. I vow to build a local government that we all can be proud of once again and return Sagamu to the top level in the league of local governments in Nigeria", he said.
