BREAKING: "Sagamu Sitting On Keg Of Gunpowder, Explosion Imminent, Drastic Measure Should Be Taken To Tackle Unemployment Now" Ambassador Easy

Chief Obafemi Awolowo of blessed memory said and I quote, “The children of the poor you failed to train will never let your children have peace”

"You get your freedom by not being confined. You get freedom by letting your enemy know that you'll do anything to get your freedom. You'll get it. It's the only way you'll get it...So dont you run around here trying to make friends with somebody who's depriving you of your rights. They're not your friends. No, they're your enemies. Treat them like that and fight them, and you'll get your freedom. And after you get your freedom, your enemey will respect you. He will respect you. I say that with no hate. I have no hate in me. I don't have any hate, but I've got some sense...I'm not going to let somebody who hates me to tell me to love him. I'm not that way out"
Malcolm X

Our Leaders within Sagamu and its environs are just too roomy and comfortable so, they can't really defend our course and interest as expected, the bitter truth is that we need to take our destinies in our own hands.

If and only if we must fight unemployment, all hands must be on deck, His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, HRH Oba Adewale Osiberu, Elepe of Epe, HRH Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya, Ewusi of Makun, other Royal Fathers in Sagamu, Hon. Ijaya, Hon. Shitta, Hon. Sapele, Hon. Comm. Funmi Efuwape, Our Amiable Chairman, Ogbeni Afolabi AFO, Commissioner Princess Elegbeji, all Councillors, SYA, NYCN, every individuals must be fully involved.

If nothing seems to be working as expected, I feel what is needed to be done as it's been done in other saner climes is to go back to the drawing board or round table, in view of this, we need to go back to Sagamu of the old where our Royal Fathers, Community Leaders command respect, where the Royal Fathers and Public Office Holders get Job slots from all these corporate organizations.

Obviously, our Community Leaders have failed us in the past, we the youths have also failed ourselves, why not use the past to correct the present for better tomorrow. Let's unanimously correct and right the past wrongs.

Is it not being said that we Sagamu Youths are rugged only in killing ourselves, some even said we are only proactive as Sex workers Olosho, Yahoo Boys, I wouldn't blame those who have tagged us in this way or manner, because we caused it all, we failed to act when needed and we allowed us to be used against ourselves, many of us are cowards, some of us are just self-absorbed while some are blindfolded with peanut, some also worked against the system because of empty promises afterwhich they were used and dumped, we fail to understand that a house divided against itself can't stand.

Indubitably, majority of our past Youth Leaders in Sagamu are just too egocentric and can trade the whole community for money, with all the monies accumulated at the detriment of the Youths, nothing to show for it, what can they point to as greatest achievement, zero, well, here we are today.

I could remember vividly during the ENDSARS protest after the death of Tiamiyu Kazeem Kaka, there was a protest in town where the Youths, women were said to have gathered altogether in Akarigbo Palace, Oba Akarigbo, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Hon. Ijaya, Hon. Sapele, Hon. Shitta, Hon Comm. Funmi Efuwape amongst others were all in attendance where they took turns to address the mammoth crowd, OGD said he was flabbergasted with the turn out of youths on a faithful Monday morning, he said he was sad that many youths are jobless but what has OGD done to ameliorate the situation, nothing.

Current update revealed that there are 76 Companies in Sagamu local government, now let's be more mathematical and analytical, assuming 50 of the 76 Companies are operational at the moment, if we go by Sagamu Youth Association constitution which I'm well acquainted with, we could get 50 youths out of streets all in the name of Community Liason Officer (CLO) constitutionally, this is not even employment so to say, it's just as stipulated in the SYA constitution in which all the companies are aware of, yet we Youths are jobless despite having the qualifications required or needed.

Any youth representative who is always interested in collecting money from the companies at the detriment of the community should be rebuked, exposed, embarrassed, kicked out of the system with immediate effect and alacrity.

Who should be blamed, even the government failed to do what is needed for the citizens, the main and major objective of RIDSCo is CSR, placing CSR above Youth Employment is a NO for me, why can't RIDSCo as a body key into the relationship between them and those companies they get CSR from, lobby for Sagamites and ensure that they are gainfully employed, it's not their fault anyway, when most of their projects are projects that can be done by an individual, how would individual do it when they are jobless.

The dispirited part of it is that it has now got to the stage where Sagamites have to lobby and plead before being employed as Contract Staff in all these companies.

I do burst into laughter any time I hear that the government or a particular community wants to tackle or curb Cultism, Yahoo Yahoo, Kidnapping, Killings, Drug Abuse, and other social vices, is it not commonsensical to tackle unemployment first, I'm sure all the aforementioned would be drastically reduced to the minimal.

No job for graduate, those who have the zeal, keenness and passion to study are being discouraged, "who school help" is what you hear form these guys roaming about the streets of Sagamu. Many graduates riding Bike on the street, just because we failed to exploit what we have, even smaller community with few companies are making exploits and living comfortable.

Our Federal Lawmakers need to wakeup to this task, Senator Lekan Mustapha and  Hon. Dewunmi Onanuga Ijaya, what happened to the DSS, Army, Air Force, Navy and Police slots, I stand to be corrected, if you could lobby for federal government projects to be executed here in Sagamu and its environs, then you should be able to lobby, and bring the slots back home, doing so delineate good representation.

Take a walk through the streets of Sagamu and see the larger number of Youths loitering and wandering around doing nothing, the rate of unemployment keeps skyrocketing daily.

A tour round the companies in Sagamu area of Ogun State will give one a clearer picture of the situation of things, how many Sagamites are MDs, GMs, Chief Supervisors, Supervisors, Senior Staff, Team Leaders or Junior Staff, I bet you will weep bitterly for us, then ensure you also check the contract Staff in those companies, you will find Sagamites taking the lead as majority.

Maybe we should ask our public office holders, how many people have gained employment through them since they assumed office? All what you people know how to do is to keep giving people fish and not teach them how to fish. Why do they do so? It's mainly because they don't want the youth to compete with them and their Children so that they can keep using the Youths to attain greater heights in life mostly politically.

I implore fellow Sagamu Youth to throw weight behind anyone who has innovation, an idea or ready to make some moves to tackle unemployment irrespective of his or her status, age, positions, religion, provided such moves, innovations and ideas are apolitical.

If nothing is done to arrest or ameliorate this ugly situation, we might experience another disorderliness, commotions, and an act of criminalities within Sagamu and its environs.

I therefore challenge the youth to start this gospel against unemployment, propagate it everywhere, we say no to unemployment in Sagamu, Sagamu is a Pacesetter, we can't continue to be enslaved in our own town, we refused to be subjugated, enough is enough
