The heavy downpour today in Makun area of Sagamu local government was huge as one death was recorded, bikes and properties swept away by the torrent according to SON.

The erosion around express junction - dallof junction down - Awolowo down to Ogunyanwo Street to Isale Ojumele which was supposed to be channelled into the dumess river is always enormous.

The people in the area therefore use the medium to call on people of timber and calibre to come to their aids as we approach the raining season.

The single death recovered were said to be a student of Agbele Community High School due to the uniform according to Save Our Nation SON.

SON gathers that many properties, valuable goods are always destroyed in the area whenever rain falls due to small drainage system in the area and the erosion passing through the area is highly enormous.

Some bikes were said to have been swept by the torrent, while many valuable goods and properties were also lost due to the heavy downpour.

Also, some people who were swept away by the torrent were said to have sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, sometimes last year, houses were destroyed in the same area, many rendered homeless due to the heavy downpour and nothing was done to ameliorate the situation and suffering of the people in the area.

The residents therefore call on the executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, his royal majesty, Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, his royal highness, Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya Ewusi of Makun, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Hon. Dewunmi Onanuga Ijaya, Hon. Sapele, Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate AFO etc to find a lasting solution to this torrent before it kills everyone and renders them homeless.
