Two-time champions Enyimba FC are not looking to win the 2016 CAF Champions League title, according to head coach Paul Aigbogun.
Enyimba were crowned African club champions in 2003 and 2004 but have underwhelmed in recent seasons.
The People’s Elephant last progressed past the group stages of the competition in 2011 and Aigbogun believes expectations should be modest this year.
“I never set out to win the Champions League trophy with Enyimba this year.
“That will be looking too far ahead. My target is to do better than they did last year when Enyimba was beaten in the first round by Egyptian club Smouha.

“The target for now is to win our preliminary round tie in the competition and get into the next round,” Aigbogun said.
Enyimba will face Ugandan club Vipers in the preliminary round of the competition.

The first leg will be played on the weekend of February 12-14 at the 5,000 capacity Buikwe Stadium, Wakiso.
The return fixture will be held on February 28 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Meanwhile, Enyimba pocketed a total of 70 million Naira from the League Management Company (LMC) to top the money list for last season.

This is according to an official publication of the league for the past season.
A breakdown of these earnings from the league, showed the seven-time champions received 40 million Naira, like all the other 19 clubs in the league.
They were also paid record-making prize money of 30 million Naira.
Kano Pillars were paid 15 million Naira when they won a third straight championship two seasons ago.
For the past season, runners-up Warri Wolves were paid 22.5 million Naira, while third-placed Nasarawa United got 15 million Naira.
